East Point, Georgia – Sylvia Johnson, a cherished alumna of the Hogansville High School Class of 1976, passed away in 2024 at the age of 66.
Her passing has left her family, friends, and the community mourning the loss of a beloved figure known for her quiet strength and kindness.
Sylvia Johnson, born in 1958, was remembered fondly by those who knew her from childhood.

Gus Thornhill’s Funeral Home is handling the arrangements, with a public viewing scheduled for Friday, October 18th.
A homegoing service will follow on Saturday, October 19th at 2:00 p.m. at East Point First Mallalieu United Methodist Church in East Point, Georgia.
Rachel Ransom, a close friend, shared on social media, "Sylvia was such a sweetheart, she never raised her voice and ALWAYS had a way of keeping things real and in perspective! She was such a jewel from playing with dolls at her granny’s house to doing homework and special projects for school."
