Tamara Lazak, 48, Identified as Victim in Fatal Jackson County Collision Involving Tractor

Jackson County, Iowa – The Iowa State Patrol has confirmed the identity of the victim in a fatal accident that occurred on October 3, 2024. Tamara E. Lazak, 48, of Muskegon, Michigan, was fatally injured in a tragic collision at the intersection of U.S. Highway 61 and 196th Avenue.

According to authorities, the incident took place when a tractor operated by 58-year-old Randall J. Diesling from Maquoketa, Iowa, collided with a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Andrew C. Lindemann of Victoria, Texas. At the time of the crash, Lazak was a passenger in Lindemann’s vehicle, which was traveling southbound on U.S. 61.

The collision resulted in severe injuries for Lazak, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Both Lindemann and Diesling sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment. Lindemann was taken to the University of Iowa Health Care, while Diesling was treated at UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital in Dubuque. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.

The fatal accident has reignited concerns over safety on rural highways, particularly regarding the presence of slower-moving vehicles such as tractors. As the investigation continues, the local community mourns the loss of Tamara Lazak.
