Shelby Carroll, a dedicated member of Texas Tech’s Agri-Techsans, tragically passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, in a car accident while returning from an event in Odessa.
The accident claimed the lives of both Shelby and her passenger, another student from the Texas Tech Davis College of Agriculture.
Shelby, known for her love of nature and animals, was described by her family as someone with a “beautiful soul” who lived life fully.
“She gave her all for everything she chose to do and all of her heart to everyone she loved,” shared a close family member in a heartfelt social media post.
Shelby had a deep passion for agriculture, plants, and nature, and was thriving as a student at Texas Tech.
Tributes have poured in from friends and loved ones.
Kristin Dannels Magby expressed, “We were heartbroken to hear this news. Lifting you all up in prayer.”
Another mourner, Kelly Swartz, shared, “To know Shelby was to love her… Beautiful soul. Hugs and prayers for you all.”
The Carroll family has asked for prayers during this difficult time, and plans for a celebration of Shelby’s life will be shared in the coming days.
