Washington, Indiana – Traci Michele Riester Whitehead, cherished by family and friends for her selflessness and vibrant spirit, passed away peacefully in her bed on the night of October 25, 2024. She was 57 years old.
Born on November 24, 1966, Traci was known for her generous heart and her ability to bring light to those around her. A dedicated mother, Traci persevered through life’s hardships to provide for her two children, Antha and Maxx, and her two grandchildren, Konner and Ilayna. Friends and family remember her as a “one-of-a-kind,” “free-spirited” individual with an infectious smile and a “heart of gold.”
Traci’s health had been a challenge in recent years. She faced congestive heart failure and high blood pressure and continued working despite health issues that took a toll on her well-being. Despite her struggles, she remained a supportive and loving presence for those close to her. “Traci would do anything she could for people,” a family member recalled, highlighting her unwavering dedication to helping others.
A GoFundMe fundraiser, organized by her son Maxx Whitehead, seeks support for her cremation and a Celebration of Life in lieu of a traditional funeral. “We appreciate any help,” Maxx shared, as the family aims to honor her memory according to her wishes.
Kelly Jo expressed her condolences, saying, “I’m so sorry!” Megan Parkes added, “I’m sorry to hear about your loss,” while Haley Elliott commented, “I’m so sorry, Maxx.” Traci’s memory will be cherished, and her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew her.
