Wren Varsity Football Player Isaac Wigington Injured in Serious Car Accident in Piedmont, SC

Piedmont, SC – Isaac Wigington, a standout player for the Wren Varsity Football team, was seriously injured in a car accident over the weekend. Wigington, who is a senior and plays running back for the team, has been recognized for his impressive skills on the field, but now faces a difficult road to recovery following the tragic incident.

The Wren Youth Association released a statement confirming the accident and calling for support from the community. They stated, “Early this morning, Isaac Wigington (one of our varsity football players) was in a terrible car accident. In an effort to provide support for Isaac, his family, and the Wren Community, Brad Ramey of White Plains Baptist Church in Pelzer invites everyone to gather at 6 p.m. to pray for Isaac and his family.”

Isaac, known for wearing the number 6 jersey, has been a key player for the Wren High School football team, ranking among the top 57 players in Division AAAA for one of the key statistics. His achievements also include a top 11 ranking within AAAA Region 1, showcasing his exceptional talent and dedication to the game.

On Facebook, the Wren community and friends expressed their heartfelt prayers for Isaac’s recovery. Julie McGowen Hopfer posted, “Friends … Please lift this young man and his family up in prayer. Isaac is the son of one of my high school friends. Join me and my hometown (the Wren/Powdersville Community) as we pray for our friend and Varsity football player, Isaac Wigington. He was involved in a terrible accident and needs a miracle.”

Other community members echoed their sentiments with posts like Gena Lee Wright’s “Prayers up for full healing,” and Wendie Peterson Hill’s simple but powerful message, “Sending prayers!”

The accident has left the Wren community rallying behind Isaac, with hopes that he will make a full recovery and return to the football field. Updates on Isaac’s condition are yet to be shared as the situation develops.
